France surrenders to Iranian nationals who have been setting themselves on fire

PARIS, Fr. -- This afternoon, France formally surrendered to a group of Iranian nationals who have been setting themselves on fire since last week. The Iranian nationals began the campaign of self-immolation in protest of the French government's crackdown on fringe groups living within the country. At least a dozen Iranian nationals have set themselves on fire so far, and the French government is concerned that hundreds more are waiting to immolate themselves.

Tyrone Willingham puts on a new face

SOUTH BEND, In. -- Notre Dame head coach Tyrone Willingham arrived in his office Monday morning at 9 o'clock sharp, as always. Two days earlier, Willingham's football squad lost its first game of the season to Boston College, 14-7, in a very sloppy game in which Notre Dame committed five turnovers. He had every reason to be in a bad mood. But today, Willingham approaches his secretary with a radiant, beaming smile. "Hello, Mrs. Fletcher," he says to her, "Great day to be alive, isn't it?" He passes into his office. Mrs. Fletcher scratches her head, wondering what's gotten into him.
